Boy Scout Troop 202 meets Monday nights (except holidays) year-round at 7:00 PM at Mission Baptist Church, Mission Church Road off NC 200 just north of Locust. This is an active Scout troop which camps almost every month of the year and helps grow young men into strong adults. Ages 11-18+.
Cub Pack 202 also meets at Mission Baptist for ages 6-10.
Locust Youth Association is composed of volunteers dedicated to this mission and Core Value statement: To better protect our kids and volunteers, enforce a zero tolerance policy for unsportsmanlike conduct and inappropriate behavior of Coaches, athletes and spectators. The Stanly/Cabarrus County Writer's Group meets the first Wednesday of each month, 6 pm, at the Locust Library. We are a group of writers at all stages of our careers, all striving to be better writers. All writers are welcome to attend. There is no fee for joining.
